About HFI

Hemp Federation Ireland was founded in 2018 and formally established at the Humanities Institute, University College Dublin (UCD) in January 2019.

HFI represents the common interests  of Irish hemp industry stakeholders across government departments and agencies in Ireland and at EU level.

As a policy focused organisation we  work to support evidence-based decision making and a rational, science-based approach to the development of the hemp sector in Ireland.

The expertise of our advisory board is supported by our internal research capacity to provide fully validated industry information and advice, ensuring our members are equipped to navigate the highly complex and constantly shifting policy and trade environment.

HFI is a fully registered lobbying organisation. Our advocacy work on behalf of the Irish Hemp Industry is recorded in our lobbying returns which can be accessed at lobbying.ie.
